Another smile to my face brought to me by Grace Grossmann! Thank you, my dear friend.

I do need to learn how to get a good night's sleep.

Much love,

Jim

So glad I can bring a smile ☺️ also I'm sorry for not responding to your email yet. I'm behind with online stuff, but hope you're recovering well with your wrist!! Sleep is the best medicine!!

My wrist is getting better, but still hurts some. Old men heal more slowly than healthy women half our age!

You take care of yourself first. Get in touch when you can.

Pura Vida is more than a saying. It is a philosophy. Chilling out is critically important especially if we are committed to slowing down and absorbing all that life has to offer. Have a very Protopian day my friend.

I love how you bring it down to the basics. Rest water, air soil. Us and the Earth intertwined together meeting the same things.

You know it Corine! It's truly the combination of basics with eating well, sleeping well, speaking well! 💞

Grace, the phrase that caught my attention was "soften smarter" because rest is often framed as the opposite of discipline when, in reality, sustainable discipline depends on it. Many people treat exhaustion as evidence of commitment and recovery as a reward to be earned later, only to discover that depleted people make depleted decisions. I also appreciate your emphasis on rhythm over hacks; lasting wellbeing is usually built through repeatable practices rather than dramatic interventions. Thank you for reminding readers that restoration is not a detour from life but part of how we remain fully present for it.

So true Kevin!! Glad this part spoke to your soul the most. Rhythm over hacks: say it louder 🔊 lol! Lashing well-being is through repeatable practices - love the way you phrase that, so true 👏🏻

This is such a refreshing message in a world obsessed with optimization. ✨

Sometimes we don't need another productivity system, morning routine, or life hack. We need rest, perspective, and permission to be human. The idea that we can "soften smarter" instead of constantly pushing harder really resonates.

I've found that some of the biggest breakthroughs come after slowing down, not speeding up. A rested mind often sees solutions that an exhausted one misses.

There's wisdom in knowing when to move forward and wisdom in knowing when to pause. 🤍🌿
